About
About Quick Gesture
Six short tests of speed and memory, laid out like lanes on a running track.
What is here
A reaction time test, a typing speed test, a click speed test, an aim trainer, a number memory test and a sequence memory test. Each one takes a minute or two, shows its result straight away and remembers your personal best on your device. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.
How it works
Every test runs entirely in your browser. Times come from performance.now() and the timestamps your browser puts on each click, tap and key press, which browsers report to within about a millisecond. Your presses, typing and answers are handled on the page and are not sent anywhere.
Precise timing is not the same as a pure measure of you, though. Your screen needs time to show each change and your mouse, keyboard or touchscreen needs time to report each press, so every result includes your setup. Scores are most useful compared with your own earlier scores on the same device.
What it is not
These are games and practice tools. They are not medical, psychological, driving or employment assessments, and a score here says nothing about your health. Where a page quotes a figure, such as typical reaction times or memory spans, it names its source; other comparisons are labelled as rough.
Who makes it
Quick Gesture is an independent site, one of a small family of free browser tools listed in the footer. The writing, typing passages and designs are original to the site. There are no ads. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies; the privacy page has the details.
